WTA Cincinnati: Williams swept in 1st round two weeks from last US Open – rts.ch

The farewell of Serena Williams (WTA 612) in Cincinnati turned into a disaster. The American lost 6-4 6-0 to reigning US Open champion Emma Raducanu (13).

Even though Emma Raducanu delivered a very clean copy, Serena Williams stayed away from the mark. Unable to find the right rhythm, she made 19 unforced errors once morest… only one at the Briton.

Serena Williams, who has won only one match since June 2021, will end her career following the US Open. She has 2 weeks ahead of her to find a semblance of form that will allow her to hold her rank at Flushing Meadows.
