Joanne Züger (WTA 165) did not have the shadow of a chance in the round of 16 of the WTA tournament in Hamburg. The 21-year-old Baloise was beaten 6-1 6-1 in 1:01 by American Bernarda Pera (WTA 81).
Züger was out of qualifying and featured in the main draw of a WTA tournament for the first time. She won her first success there on Tuesday, but Pera was of a completely different caliber, she who just won her first tournament last week in Bucharest.
