Roman Reigns’ title reign has a future even after almost 1,000 days! The “Tribal Chief” prevailed in the main event of Night Two of WWE at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

At WrestleMania 39 (on WWE Network), Cody Rhodes wanted to finish his story. And just as the story had been told beforehand, all the stars were now in place. Cody received the undivided support of the WWE Universe – something that hadn’t been seen in a very long time.

WWE offered the dramatic main event match, but the outcome shocked fans. An intervention by Jimmy and Jey Uso was repelled by Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. But later it was Solo Sikoa who influenced the outcome with his Samoan Spike.

Cody had just pulled off the Cross Rhodes twice against the “Tribal Chief”. That’s when Paul Heyman climbed onto the ring barrier to distract the official. On the opposite side of the ring, Sikoa appeared. The Bloodline’s “enforcer” had previously been expelled from the stadium.

Now Solo hit the spike. Reigns followed up with the spear. The referee added the 3-count and called out Roman’s title defense. The fans couldn’t believe it. An actually glorious Mania weekend ended extremely questionably in front of 81,395 spectators.

Bianca Belair Retains Raw Women’s Championship

The second WrestleMania evening remained completely without a title change. Bianca Belair also prevailed against her challenger Asuka.

The Japanese wanted to spit her mysterious liquid in Bianca’s face. But Belair dodged. Belair went for the KOD, but Asuka countered with a cross arm breaker. But the champion proved her strength, powering herself to her feet with Asuka, hoisting her onto her shoulders and winning with the KOD.

Before the match, Belair provided a real WrestleMania moment with her entrance. Young girls of a dance group from Compton, a suburb of LA, danced in Belair look with the WWE star:

Shane McMahon returns and is injured

Shane McMahon provided another surprise on WrestleMania Sunday. Vince’s son returned to WWE after 14 months. Snoop Dogg had chosen him as the next surprise opponent for hosts The Miz.

But then something went horribly wrong: After a few seconds, Shane (53) jumped into the air to a leapfrog. He rolled over in pain on impact: McMahon had torn his quadriceps muscle.

Spontaneously the arrangement was changed: Snoop Dogg came into the ring. He slammed The Miz down with a fist, hit The Rocks People’s Elbow (in a version all his own) and pinned the WrestleMania host.

Bad cut for Finn Bálor

Not only Shane McMahon was injured, but Finn Bálor as “Demon” left the “Hell in a Cell” match with a nasty cut. When Edge threw a ladder at him, Bálor caught the metal in the head. Finn’s head split open. The match was briefly interrupted, the wound was stapled.

Fortunately, the “Demon” was allowed to continue after the referee’s approval. Some time later he attempted a coup de grace. He jumped off a device on the cage and tried to throw Edge through a table. However, the Rated-R Superstar dodged and the “Demon” crashed through the wood alone.

Now Edge was pounding his back with a red chair. A second chair came into play – the decision conchairto went through. With this, Edge took revenge for the conchairto on his wife, Beth Phoenix.

Incidentally, Edge’s ring entrance to the sounds of Slayer was also remarkable:

Gunther remains IC champion

For many it was the match of the evening. If you like wrestling the hard way, you’ve come to the right place: Gunther, Sheamus and Drew McIntyre gave each other nothing in a triple threat match. And in the finish, the third laughed as two other men argued – or softly patted.

In the final phase, the fight between Sheamus and Drew McIntyre raged. When Sheamus landed a brogue kick on McIntyre and applied the cover, Gunther flew in off the ropes with a big splash. He then pounded Sheamus in the back with a powerbomb. An additional powerbomb followed against Drew to win for the champion from Austria.

The beast defeats the giant

WrestleMania Sunday kicked off with Brock Lesnar vs. Omos. The match between the WWE Champion and the Nigerian giant lasted just five minutes. Omos dominated the first few minutes, including a bear hug. Then Lesnar managed to pull off two German suplexes. Now the moment of the match: Omos was hoisted onto his shoulders, Brock pulled his F-5 through. The end!

Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler won the women’s showcase match. Also in competition were: Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, Natalya and Shotzi, and Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville. Rousey (still injured) and Baszler (stricken in the match) played only minor roles, but still got the win: Ronda used a good opportunity to make Shotzi submit in an armbar.
