X rival Threads has more than 130 million monthly users

The platform was finally launched in Europe in December 2023, following months of waiting.

Mark Zuckerberg estimates that Threads has the potential to have more than a billion users. For comparison, two Meta subsidiaries, Facebook and Instagram have 3.07 and two billion active monthly users, respectively.

At the time of its acquisition by Elon Musk, Twitter, now X, had nearly 238 million active daily users on its platform.
