X users (ex-Twitter) are faced with ads without the option to block

Users of offensive content. And, when users tap on them, they are directed to other websites.

Unlike regular ads, which are just posts from other X profiles, and have an “Ad” label, these new ones don’t have any accounts associated with them.

If you’re just browsing the timeline, the embedded image and clickbait-style text might fool you into thinking it’s just another post, like any other post on the site. A “profile” photo made from the embedded image helps confuse users.

The Mashable portal points out that the format is not in X’s campaign manager and suggests that the ads are being served by a third-party ad provider.

And you, did you find this type of ad on your timeline?
