Xbox “rear bar on fire”, Apple suspected of poaching its engineers to develop its own game console – Qooah

Recently, the news that Microsoft announced the acquisition of Activision Blizzard for US$68.7 billion has attracted the attention of the majority of netizens. However, while Microsoft continued to acquire, the “back column was on fire”! Windows Central reporter Jez Corden revealed on a recent episode of The Xbox Two podcast that he heard from Apple insiders that Apple is building its own game console. Moreover, Apple has been poaching Microsoft’s Xbox engineers, and has initially formulated the hardware specifications of the game console.

It is worth mentioning that the reporter emphasized that this news has been circulating for a while, but it is unknown what Apple game console will look like and whether it will be launched, but Apple must have made some moves.

In fact, Apple has launched a game console product. In 1995, Apple cooperated with Bandai to launch a game console product called Pinpin, which was priced as high as $599, but it only supported CD media. Although Apple positioned the Apple Pippin as a low-cost computer, it offered a super-high price of $599, which was much more expensive than its competitors’ similar products, and twice as much as the PS1 and N64, which were $299 at the time. In the end, the game console sold only regarding 42,000 units in total, resulting in a loss of more than 6.5 billion yen for Apple and Bandai.

And when asked who else would want to compete with other console makers like Apple and Microsoft, Corden said he thinks the only company that might want to go head-to-head will be Chinese gaming company Tencent.

Earlier, Microsoft’s acquisition of Blizzard had a considerable impact on Sony, and whether the entry of Apple today can bring more unexpected results, we do not know yet, but the competition of game companies is a good thing for players.
