Xiaomi 13 shows strong performance in Geekbench test

The Xiaomi 13 series is expected just before the end of the year, the Samsung Galaxy S23 series With satellite communication comes in early February. Both manufacturers will rely on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset that has just been presented. As the first Geekbench tests of the Xiaomi 13 series now show, the performance differs significantly.

Samsung Galaxy S23+ / S23 Ultra / Xiaomi 13 Geekbench-Tests

The first screenshot shows a Geekbench benchmark from the Samsung Galaxy S23+, the second from the S23 Ultra and the third from the Xiaomi 13. In terms of single-core performance, the Xiaomi 13 leads by a tiny margin with 1,507 points. In the multi-core test, on the other hand, the values differ significantly. While the S23+ already performs below average with 4,844 points, the S23 Ultra with 4,580 points is far behind the 5,343 points of the Xiaomi 13.

Similar test results are also already from the new Vivo X90 Pro+ known. So far, however, the assumption was that a special feature of the S23 series was the cause. Supposedly one customized Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 version with a higher prime core clock of 3.36 GHz (instead of 3.2 GHz) in the Samsung phones come into use. The main core also shows strong performance, but the tested Xiaomi 13 still just beats it. In Samsung’s defence, however, it must be said that these are probably pre-series devices and the final values may still differ.

New renderings

In addition, new renderings of the Xiaomi 13 in various colors have appeared today. The design with the rounded aluminum housing is strongly reminiscent of the Apple iPhone 14-Serie. There is also a camera module similar to that Xiaomi 12 with a wide-angle main camera, an ultra-wide-angle, a telephoto lens with 2x to 3x zoom and the typical Leica branding. At least as far as the main camera is concerned, Xiaomi makes no compromises. Supposedly the 13 Pro will be den 1 inch camera sensor from the Xiaomi 12S Ultra inherit.
