Xiaomi 14 Pro: First teardown video shows off the new continuously variable aperture camera and other new hardware features

A few days have passed since Xiaomi presented its first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. If the two models share most of the components, Xiaomi has chosen to keep certain hardware elements for the more expensive Pro. One of these differences is the continuously variable aperture of the main camera, which is exclusive to the Xiaomi 14 Pro.

WekiHome demonstrated how this hardware works in one of its latest teardown videos, which can be seen at around the 2:50 mark in the embedded video below. As always, to access the internal hardware, you must first remove the rear glass panel of the Xiaomi 14 Pro. Once it is removed, WekiHomealso highlights the different chips of the device, including theSnapdragon 8 Gen 3The Xiaomi 14 Pro is equipped with a memory card, UFS 4.0 flash memory and RAM, as well as components dedicated to security and charging management.

Apparently, the included 4,880 mAh battery should be easy to remove, thanks to the inclusion of large pull tabs. Additionally, the YouTuber verifies that the new TCL C8 display delivers 2,950 nits in HDR mode, although this does not necessarily reflect maximum brightness in the real world. Xiaomi has equipped the Xiaomi 14 Pro with a large cooling solution that visually appears larger than the equivalent in the Xiaomi 13 Ultradespite official estimates stating the opposite. For now, the Xiaomi 14 etXiaomi 14 Proremain Chinese exclusives. Both devices are expected to be released simultaneously worldwide in early 2024.
