XPENG > Some Chinese drivers have eyes too small for fatigue detection

A Chinese blogger, “DerekTLM”, complained that the smart driving system of his XPeng car always sees him as distracted or sleepy. In an article he published on the Chinese platform Weibo, the blogger complained that he received very frequent warnings from the attention monitoring system because of his small eyes. ” I repeat, my eyes are small, but I do not fall asleep at the wheel “, he posted. ” Don’t we small-eyed people deserve to use our cars? »

The aggrieved driver tagged the chairman of XPeng in his Weibo post while demanding that the system be upgraded. He also claimed that the system constantly took points away from him for being distracted or falling asleep at the wheel.

In response, He Xiaopeng, the brand’s president, posted on Weibo where he tagged the XPeng manager in charge of the autopilot function, asking him to follow up on the matter. Shortly after, XPeng Motors replied on its official Weibo account that it had received the complaints.

Same problems for ChangYanCY, a famous automotive blogger with over 1.2 million Weibo followers, also recounted his ordeal with the driver monitoring system. He claimed that his eyes were so small that the driver monitoring system of most cars often mistakenly judged him to be asleep. He also expressed concern that the size of his eyes would prevent him from using the advanced functions of the driver assistance systems.
