Yacyretá trains producers in Ñeembucú

Asunción, IP Agency.- The Yacyretá Binational Entity (EBY) provided training courses to producers from Villa Oliva, Alberdi and Villa Franca in the department of Ñeembucú, along with technicians from other institutions that are members of the Social Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic.

The areas addressed were livestock production, horticulture and fish farming, as reported by Yacyretá.

The training sessions in livestock production and horticulture were held in Alberdi, in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, and Senacsa. The activity, aimed at producers and young students, took place at the district’s Agricultural Technical College.

In livestock training, the day included strengthening knowledge in genetics, sanitation, feeding and herd management.

Horticulture continues to be one of the main production areas, useful for income and self-consumption, therefore the training for those present addressed the selection of a suitable place for the garden on the farm, soil preparation, organic fertilizer, types, forms of preparation and formation process of organic fertilizer, final conditions of the fertilizer for its application to the soil of the family garden.

In addition, they were taught about the types of plant species improved by crossing, hybrids and transgenics, cultural care, harvesting and marketing, among other topics.

The fish farming courses for income and self-consumption were carried out in the district of Villa Oliva and were taught by technicians from the Fish Fauna Program and officials from the Social Coordination Productive Projects Area of ​​the EBY, with support from the local Municipality, site of the days. The activity is carried out within the framework of the Social Protection table installed in Ñeembucú.

The EBY specialists addressed the following topics; introduction to basic fish farming, pond construction, pond management, biology of farmed species, feeding, harvesting and transportation.

Those attending this course made questions that were answered by the exhibitors and finally received certificates of participation.

A similar activity was developed today in Villa Franca, with the aim of improving productive performance in rural areas.
