The emergency mode was introduced on the territory of Yakutia due to forest fires, which became more frequent due to extreme heat and thunderstorms, the head of the region, Aisen Nikolaev, reports in his Telegram channel.

Severe heat and lightning activity in the region have complicated the wildfire situation, Nikolayev said. To date, there are 110 forest fires in the republic on a total area of 61,164 hectares. The most difficult situation is in the Ust-Maisky, Oymyakonsky and Aldan regions.
