Sold, not so long ago, for less than €2 per kilo, pakala yams can now be found on the shelves of hypermarkets and markets at sometimes €6. If some, resigned to the inflation of consumer prices in general, continue to buy this root vegetable imported from Costa Rica, others give up. Salvation may soon come from local production.
