“Yandex” presented the column “Station Max” with Zigbee support

The Russian company “Yandex” has introduced a new version of the proprietary “smart” column “Station Max”. The 2023 model received support for the Zigbee smart home protocol.

Technically, the new version of the column repeats the already existing flagship model – three-way sound through five speakers with a total power of 65 W with Dolby Audio technology, support for 4K video in 4K and an LED screen are announced. “Station Max” has seven built-in microphones, HDMI output, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, RJ-45 Ethernet and a 3.5 mm jack for external speakers.

The 2023 column received its own Zigbee module, which allows you to integrate the “Station Max” with sensors, light bulbs, sockets and other accessories from various manufacturers that support the Zigbee standard. It is stated that the new protocol allows you to create local scripts to automatically start the device, including without an Internet connection.

The device also received support for the new Matter unified smart home protocol, which is designed to make it easier to connect accessories from different manufacturers. After the distribution of Matter on the market, the speaker will be able to work with the new protocol after the next software update.

The new “Station Max”, which looks different from its predecessor with an updated grille shape, is available in gray, blue, black and burgundy. Sales of the Yandex column with Zigbee support will begin in the spring of 2023.
