Yemen: procedures to ensure a smooth prisoner exchange process today

Majed Al-Fadael, official spokesman for the government delegation in the negotiations of prisoners and abductees, member of the negotiating delegation, Undersecretary of the Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights, confirmed the completion of the necessary preparations to implement the process of exchanging prisoners and abductees, easily and smoothly, according to what was agreed upon in Geneva, this morning, under the supervision of the Red Cross and the United Nations. .
Al-Fadael stated that all measures had been taken and preparations for the exchange process to proceed in a simple and smooth manner between all parties, as agreed upon in the Geneva Agreement, noting that the first operation would be between Sana’a and Aden, and that seventy-two detainees and abductees of the “Houthi” in the capital, Sana’a, would be transferred to Aden. Including Major General Mahmoud Al-Sulayhi and Major General Nasser Mansour.
He pointed out that forty-nine people are scheduled to be transferred from Aden to Sana’a in the prisoner exchange process, while the bodies of two from Sana’a have already been exchanged to Marib and vice versa, as they were on the lists of names for the exchange process, and they were already exchanged yesterday evening, Thursday, especially with the difficulty of transporting them. by plane and transported by land.
The official spokesman for the government delegation to the prisoners and abductees negotiations continued that the process will continue until next Sunday, indicating that the agreement is valid with the same preparation and agreed numbers and the same mechanism, as the exchange process will take place through six airports and a number of flights that will be operated by the International Committee of the Red Cross between Sana’a-Aden, Mocha-Sana’a, Sana’a-Tadawin, Sana’a-Riyadh, Abha-Sana’a and vice versa.
A member of the negotiating delegation, Majid Al-Fadael, explained that the Red Cross plane is already at the agreed-upon airport after the agreement was reached with all the signatory parties to the Geneva Agreement, last month, hoping that there would be no obstacles preventing the implementation of more agreements during the coming period under international and international supervision.
In addition, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, discussed yesterday with the British Ambassador to Yemen, Richard Oppenheim, the latest developments in the political process to establish peace, in light of the ongoing negotiations to extend the armistice and the cease-fire.
The Yemeni-British talks dealt with the position of the Presidential Leadership Council on the negotiations and concessions made by the Council in order to ensure their success, and the steps taken by the Council to put the southern issue on its right track in the upcoming political process.
The British ambassador affirmed his country’s keenness to continue its support to Yemen in the areas of food security, women’s development and security areas, foremost of which is providing support to the Coast Guard and Border Guard forces.
