Yemen: Reports of airstrikes in Houthi-controlled areas – 2024-03-14 03:44:07

Reports of new airstrikes in the port of Hodeidah and other coastal areas of Yemen are being broadcast today by the Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV station, which attributes the attacks to US and British forces protecting commercial ships in the Red Sea.

Al Masirah reported at least 17 strikes during the day, four of which targeted the port of Ras Issa.

Last Wednesday, a Houthi missile hit the Barbados-flagged merchant ship True Confidence, killing three crew members. It was the first fatal blow by the Houthis since they launched their attacks in November to express what they claim is solidarity with the Palestinians in the face of Israel’s military operations in the Gaza Strip.

A few days before the deadly missile attack in the Gulf of Aden, the Belize-flagged cargo ship Rubymar, which had been hit by a Houthi missile on February 18, sank a little further away.
