Dong-gyu Yoo, the former head of Seongnam Urban Development Corporation, who was arrested on suspicion of development corruption in Daejang-dong, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, and released yesterday at the end of the arrest period, attended the trial for the first time since his release.

At around 9:30 this morning, Yoo, who came to the Seoul Central District Court to appear in the Daejang-dong case trial, did not answer any reporters who asked if he had stated that the prosecution had delivered money to Yong Kim, vice president of the Institute for Democracy, or whether there was any conciliation from the prosecution. .

Yoo, who came out after the trial at around noon, left the court in a white van that was waiting in advance, without answering reporters’ questions, such as “whether there has been a change of heart?”

In October last year, former general manager Yoo was arrested and indicted on charges of driving huge development profits to private businesses, including lawyer Nam Wook, in the process of the Daejang-dong development project and receiving back money in return.

When the first six months of detention expired, the prosecution arrested former general manager Yoo again on charges of teaching evidence destruction in April, and former general manager Yoo was released at 00:00 yesterday after the six-month additional detention period ended.

In a recent prosecutor’s investigation, Yoo is known to have stated that from April to August last year, he had handed over 847 million won in cash to Kim, a close aide to Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea.
