According to health authorities, a measles epidemic has broken out in Kouvé, a locality located in Yoto Prefecture. The news fell in a press release dated this Wednesday, March 16, 2022.
Cases of measles have been detected in Kouvé. “The prefectural directorate of health of Yoto informs the population of Yoto that the health district is in the midst of a measles epidemic with the health area of Kouvé as the epidemic center”, indicates the press release of the prefectural Director of health of Yoto, Dr Assih Mandjahreu.
The health authorities do not plan to let this evil spread and want to fight it directly at the source. To do this, a response vaccination against this disease is announced by the zone (the Kouvé health area), on March 17 and 18, 2022, the press release underlines.
In addition, the entire population is invited to participate in this fight against measles. Health authorities require anyone showing symptoms of this disease to report themselves. Thus, any citizen with a fever with a rash (associated or not with other secondary signs such as runny nose, red eyes, general fatigue or watery eyes), must “quickly go to the center of nearest public health service or contact the local community health worker (ASC) for better care”.
