You are split on your current phone which has a charger inside the box

We were interested to know if Android salad Readers got a charger in the box with their current phones. So we published a poll last week, and here’s how it happened.

Just over 1,400 votes have been counted in this poll as of the time of writing, and it turns out to be a tight race. However, a small majority of respondents (54.21%) said their current phones have a charger inside the box.

Notable phones mentioned by readers in this regard include the OnePlus 10 Pro series, OnePlus 8T, Oppo Find X5, Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, Samsung Galaxy S20, Sony Xperia 1 III, and Xiaomi 12 Pro.

On the other hand, 45.79% of the readers surveyed said that their current phones do not come with a charger. According to the comments section, these phones included the Pixel 6 Pro, the iPhone from Apple, and the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

M.Rao: I recently bought a samsung S 22 Ultra for $1200/- this was my first from Samsung, and my favorite was the xiomi. So it was frustrating to see that there is no charger, it needs a high capacity charger, how can Samsung make me have such a charger?? And I have to buy one from Amazon for $30.
Tennisfreak: The S20 came with a charger. When it comes to chargers in the box, I’m of the opinion: if a phone boasts and advertises a special ultra-fast charging that requires a specific charger, it should come in the box. If no special charger is required, I don’t care if it’s in the box.

Mark Spangol: With all the different charging standards, a charger must be included. Sooner or later people choose the phone for an inline charger otherwise not all fast charging will work since every maker cooks their own charging soup. Had a Samsung a while ago and complained about the charger not being compatible to charge the phone, what the hell…

Wongwatt: My OPPO Find X5 came with a SuperVOOC charger, which is really lucky because I didn’t own one of those and I always sell my phone with the charger anyway.
