Young industry: elementary education makes sense as a federal competence

The different offers in the federal states make it a gamble for families whether they will even get a childcare place.

Vienna (OTS) “The Greens’ initiative to give elementary education to the federal government is therefore a sensible approach and has been called for by young industry for a long time,” said representatives of the organization. “Simply handing out money to the federal states and hoping that it will be used sensibly is insufficient.”

Austria lags miles behind when it comes to childcare, which leads, among other things, to absurd part-time quotas for families and, as a further consequence, poverty in old age; to name just one of the problems in this context.

“Uniform regulations for all countries would mean fairness and equal opportunities for the children.”
