Danny Santulli’s family filed a lawsuit against two students, accusing them of having attacked the young man until he left him without sight, voice and mobility.
Media in the United States gave an account of the case of Danny Santulli, 19-year-old boy who in October 2021 became blind, mute and paralyzed after a university party. There, fellow ‘fraternity’ they forced him to drink no less than three liters of alcohol through a tube, which caused him to go into cardiac arrest.
As a result of the above, his family filed a lawsuit against the leaders of that ‘brotherhood’, accusing them of having “attacked and attempted on Danny.”
Santulli entered the University of Missouri in July 2021. Once inside he felt interested in joining the so-called “Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity”.
according to the chain ABC, at the first party he had with that group an initiation ritual was performed. In the young man’s case it consisted of drinking a full bottle of vodka and two liters of beer.
According to the investigation that has been carried out, after having fulfilled that the boy suffered a fainting and subsequent cardiac arrest. His parents maintain that none of the attendees helped him.
Young man left blind and paralyzed
Although Santulli was taken to the hospital, where they managed to revive him, the doctors indicated that he had suffered severe brain damage, which led to total loss of mobility, sight and speech.
In a recent interview with the program Good Morning America, Daniel’s mother indicated that she had to quit her job at a local bank to care for her son.
“He still does not speak or walk, he is in a wheelchair. She lost her vision. But she hears us and she knows we are there. We are just going to keep fighting, we are not going to lose hope,” she stated.
“It makes my stomach turn to see the people involved who harmed Danny walking around campus acting like they didn’t do anything wrong.” he added.
The lawsuit points to two students from that campus, Samuel Gandhi and Alec Wetzler, who organized that freshman welcome party.
