Young Norway with substitute Oppegård narrowly passes the Dutch Juniors

Young Norway recorded a practice victory over the Dutch Juniors on Thursday evening. In the Nijmegen Goffert the score was 1-2. Heraclied Fredrik Oppegård came in the second half for his eleventh youth international match for the Norwegians.

The visitors from Scandinavia quickly took the lead. Less than ninety seconds after kick-off, Seedy Jatta completed a good cross from Anderlecht midfielder Kristian Arnstad.

The Dutch Juniors had to repair the sloppy opening phase and tried to produce the equalizer. This was achieved through Ruben van Bommel. After losing the ball in the Norwegians’ midfield, the AZ attacker was able to finish from close range.

Fredrik Oppegård in the team

In the second half Fredrik Oppegård entered the field. The Heraclied replaced Vetle Egeli in the left back position and did so with verve. After 55 minutes of football, the Norwegians took the lead again. Andreas Schjelderup, the attacker who also came on at the start of the second half, managed to beat Robin Roefs after a flashy action from the left flank.

The ball was largely in Dutch possession, but Michael Reiziger’s team was unable to create any danger in front of the Norwegian goal. The greatest opportunities were for Norway, but it did not lead to a goal. Schjelderup’s goal proved decisive and the FC Nordsjaelland attacker became the eventual match winner: 1-2.
