The body of a 13-year-old was discovered in a forest near Sieveringer Straße (19th district) on Tuesday morning. According to initial police reports, “no abnormalities that might indicate third-party fault” were found.
The investigations at the site were carried out by a police commission, the Vienna public prosecutor’s office and a forensic medicine expert. Now the Vienna State Criminal Police Office is investigating.
Exact cause of death is unclear
The teenager is said to have left her parents’ apartment on Monday evening, and a few hours later she was reported missing to the police. An autopsy was ordered to determine the cause of death.
