Russia’s President Vladimir Putin’s hidden private life is being revealed one after another as the family of Russian President Vladimir Putin is placed on one or two Western sanctions list.

The New York Times (NYT) reported on the 15th that Putin has four more children with two other women in addition to his ex-wife, Lyudmila Putina, who has officially admitted marriage and divorce. As the basis for this, reports from the independent Russian press, international investigative reporting groups, and Russian non-profit organizations were presented.

According to what is officially known so far, Putin has two daughters with ex-wife Lyudmila, Maria Vorontova and Ekaterina Tikonova. All of them are subject to Western sanctions, including the United States.

His second woman is named Svetlana Kribonogik, who once worked as a housekeeper. Last year, in the ‘Pandora Paper’ released by the International Association of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), it was recorded that Putin and Krivonogik had a relationship for several years, and they had a daughter, Louisa Rozova.

A few weeks after giving birth, Kribonogik became the owner of a $3.75 million (about 4.8 billion won) Monaco apartment through an overseas corporation. She is also said to have owned her 100 billion won worth of this woman.

Until recently, daughter Rozova lived in an apartment in Monaco and showed off her enjoyment of various luxury goods through Instagram. She, in particular, has revealed that she is President Putin’s daughter, in particular, because of her resemblance to Putin. However, after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February, she abruptly deleted her account when malicious comments such as ‘devil’ and ‘war criminal’ poured in.

In addition, Alina Kabaeva, a gold medalist at the 2004 Athens Olympics, is also known to be Putin’s lover. Since 2008, rumors of an affair and even marriage rumors have surfaced, and it is said that the two have at least three children, including twin girls and a son.

The Kremlin is responding to these reports as “groundless”, but the recent British sanctions against Kabaeva have become a fact.

The Anti-Corruption Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Russian opposition politician Alexey Navalny, said: “President Putin has children with governments and is convinced that they lived in luxury abroad.” He pointed out that there are records that a subsidiary of the Russian state-owned energy company Gazprom provided luxury apartments in Moscow to Kabaeva and Kryvonogiks.

Meanwhile, President Putin has expressed his uneasy feelings about Western sanctions against his family. Kremlin spokeswoman Dmitry Peskov said, “Sanctions against family members, relatives, acquaintances and journalists are foolish.”
