Yuga Labs is offering the first virtual tour of the other Metaverse to a select group of players

Up to 4,500 people took part in the “first flight” technology demonstration of another Metaverse project linked to Yuga Labs’ Bored Monkey Yacht Club. Over the weekend, Yuga Labs invited players for a first-sight tech demo and tour of the monkey surfing immersive online platform. All other players will be required to embark on or watch one of these “first trips” in order to be able to participate in the game, which has yet to be fully launched following the outage of service times since March.

According to a CoinTelegraph report, the players who took part in the digital journey into the “Biogenic swamp” that make up the Otherside hub were the owners of Otherdeeds – the digital land parcels bond within the platform. From there, they were able to explore some other select areas and interact with the environment, which included giant creatures that were wandering around and attacking Voyagers if they got too close.

In a working paper released shortly after the “first flight,” Otherside developers announced that only Otherdeed owners and “selected third-party developers” will be allowed to participate in the game during its first phase.

According to the working paper, “Phase 1” will see Otherdeed owners navigate Voyager’s Journey, an 11-part narrative game that “surrounds a mysterious obelisk that has appeared in the other universe.” In the first phase, Otherdeed owners will be able to contribute to the creation of the platform and shape its core capabilities as co-developers, via the Otherside Development Kit, the platform builder kit.

“We believe in the extraordinary strength of the community and have seen firsthand how it can be a great force for good in this industry,” the legal paper states. “We aim to stimulate, empower and recognize the expression, creativity, and ingenuity of the community of other contributors.”

The legal paper also touched on another company’s commitment to allow digital assets to circulate freely through many digital neighborhoods, or gaming platforms, which will one day potentially make up the avatar for mobility.
