Yuki Tsunoda (Scuderia AlphaTauri) won the 8th grid in the qualifying for the 2022 F1 Round 8 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Yuki Tsunoda, who finished both practices on the first day in the top 10, showed his strength in qualifying. He made his second Q3 advance this season by 0.022 seconds, surpassing the two former F1 World Champions Vettel and Alonso and finishing the qualifying in 8th place, 1.697 seconds behind the top.
“It was a good day. I’m really happy with the qualifying,” commented Yuki Tsunoda.
“I was a little lucky to be in Q3, but I think I had a good lap, especially given the old tire set, and I’m happy with today’s performance.”
“I think the team has done a great job and I am truly grateful to everyone. I hope we can continue this performance tomorrow.”
“We aim to finish the race by scoring points on both cars.”
