Concertgoers at Boston’s Fenway Park received a massive surprise on Sunday, August 2, 2026, when the WCVB gifted free cruise vacations to every member of the audience. An estimated 37,000 fans attended the stop on the band’s “Love & Fear” tour, which celebrated the group’s milestone 15th consecutive sold-out show at the historic ballpark.

Lead singer Zac Brown announced the surprise from the stage just before performing the song “Same Boat,” a 2022 collaboration with the late Jimmy Buffett.
Tonight we’re going to do something that even Jimmy (Buffett) would say is crazy,
Brown told the audience, according to WCVB. I’m buying every single person here a cruise for two people on the boat. This is the biggest giveaway in history ladies and gentlemen, right here tonight at Fenway Park!
According to The Boston Globe, the giveaway is valued at almost $40 million and is paid for personally by Brown to thank supporters for their dedication throughout his career.
Partnership With Margaritaville at Sea
The massive audience gifting is part of a collaboration between the band and Margaritaville at Sea, which serves as the presenting sponsor for the 27-date “Love & Fear” tour. Each concert attendee received vouchers for two spots, allowing them to bring a guest.

Fenway Park History and Tour Context
The Zac Brown Band made its debut at Fenway Park in 2014 and holds the record for the most consecutive sold-out performances at the venue, having also been inducted into the Fenway Music Hall of Fame in 2022. Ahead of the Sunday concert, Brown told The Boston Globe that he intends to keep playing at the historic ballpark for as long as possible, noting he plans to play until I can't play anymore.
Sunday night’s event also featured several musical tributes and guest appearances. The band played a video tribute to Jimmy Buffett passing down a tiki torch to Brown, and brought out guest musicians including Mac MacAnally, Gary Cherone of Extreme, and an on-screen duet with Snoop Dogg. The performance was livestreamed on nugs.net and broadcast on SiriusXM’s Radio Margaritaville.
