This season, Daniel Ricciardo finished in the top ten in only two races and earned eleven points once morest thirty-nine from partner Lando Norris. After finishing the race in Barcelona, McLaren boss Zack Brown acknowledged that the Australian’s performance was not up to the team’s expectations.
Zach Brown: “Lando definitely has an advantage over his partner. Of course, we would like Daniel to be much closer to Norris and our riders fought each other. Daniel is still uncomfortable in the car. We try to do everything in our power, but the result of the past weekend was disappointing.
With the exception of last year’s Monza and a few other races, our cooperation did not live up to Daniel’s expectations, nor our expectations. I believe that we should continue to work as a team and continue to attack in the hope that at some point we will succeed. I hope it happens soon.”
