“Zakat and Customs”: In the event that the traveler’s purchases exceed this amount, it must be disclosed

Al-Marsad newspaper: The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority responded, with an inquiry regarding the extent to which fees are applied to devices that are transported from Bahrain via the King Fahd Causeway.

The authority indicated that if the traveler’s purchases exceed 3,000 riyals, it must be disclosed, noting that the fees that are applied to travelers are for new, that is, unused luggage (wrapped with factory packaging).

The zakat, tax and customs indicated that a value-added tax of 15% is imposed on all imports.
