Zelensky called on the European Commission to allocate $7 billion to Ukraine every month

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has told European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen that Kiev needs $7 billion a month in aid to pay social benefits and salaries. This is reported Bloomberg.

“Ukraine needs seven billion dollars a month in the form of urgent financial assistance to cover social payments and salaries,” Zelensky said during a meeting with the head of the EC in Kyiv.

The Ukrainian leader also spoke regarding the problems with the export of grain that the country faced. Von der Leyen promised Zelensky to introduce accelerated border crossing procedures.

Earlier, the European Union agreed to allocate an additional 500 million euros for military assistance to Kiev. The total amount of assistance provided to Ukraine amounted to 1.5 billion euros.
