The Ukrainian government said President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the fighting front lines in the eastern Luhansk and Donetsk regions on the 6th, hoping to boost the morale of the soldiers. Zelensky also revealed that he brought something to the military.
According to comprehensive foreign media reports, Zelensky visited Lysychansk in Luhansk Oblast and Soledar in Donetsk Oblast. Both places have been under heavy Russian artillery fire in recent weeks. He met with Ukrainian front-line soldiers and listened to reports on the state of operations on the front line. “I’m proud of everyone I meet,” Zelensky said. He shook hands with these people, communicated, expressed support. “I brought something for the military, but I won’t give details,” he revealed. He also claimed that he brought two important things to the people from the front, that is, confidence and strength.
Earlier on the 6th, Zelensky also visited the southern city of Zaporizhzhia, where he met with the regional governors of some of the occupied towns. The governor of Zaporozhye state, Oleksandr Starukh, told Zelensky that 60 percent of the state’s territory was occupied by Russian troops, and fighting was still ongoing in some areas. There are currently 2,701 infrastructure damaged, of which 700 facilities have been rebuilt.
Zelensky, who was also on the Khortytsia island in Zaporozhye, met residents of Malipo with their children who fled the Russian-controlled port city, and he pointed out that “every family fleeing has its own tales of most families without males, some with husbands fighting on the battlefield, some captured, some tragically killed.”
