Videos appeared online with members of the Zero People group, in which they called themselves patriots and stated that their songs did not contain a word in support of Ukraine or against the North Military District. Earlier, riot police disrupted the band’s concert in St. Petersburg. The telegram channel Sota drew attention to the videos.

“At our concerts and in our songs there is not a single word against the SVO, not a single word in support of Ukraine. We respect the leadership of our country and are certainly patriots of Russia,” said the vocalist of Zero People and Animal Jazz Alexander Krasovitsky in the video.

The group’s keyboardist, Alexander Zarankin, noted in a similar video that “no anti-government, anti-Russian or pro-Ukrainian slogans” were planned at the concert. “I am a patriot of my country and have respect for the leadership of the Russian Federation,” he added.

It is unclear where and under what circumstances the videos were recorded. Sota suggests that the recordings were made at the St. Petersburg police station, where the musicians were taken after the concert was disrupted. At the same time, “North. Realities” noticedthat rollers appeared on channel 360tv on the night of November 11. The channel accompanied the post with the caption: “Another batch of apologies – now from the musicians from the Zero People group.”

Update. On the Zero People page in “VKontakte” appeared information about the postponement of the Russian tour, during which the musicians were supposed to perform in 17 cities of Russia (including St. Petersburg). It is unclear when the tour will take place. The group promises to announce new dates in the near future. “We will break through,” the message says.

On the evening of November 9, riot police disrupted the concert of the Zero People group, which was supposed to take place in the St. Petersburg club “Cosmonaut”. It was reported that the performance, which was attended by about 300 people, was canceled a few minutes before the start. According to eyewitnesses, riot police ordered the spectators to sit or lie on the floor, warning that they would check the documents of everyone present. The Baza Telegram channel then wrote that the reason for the disruption of the concert was “anti-Russian statements” by Alexander Krasovitsky.

Zero People concerts in summer 2023 canceled in Vladivostok and Khabarovsk. Activists of the “Call of the People” movement wrote denunciations against the group, claiming that the musicians did not support the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
