Zetamix launches complete solution for porcelain 3D printing

2023-09-26 06:05:09

The French Zetamix, filament manufacturer, has developed a line of products for porcelain 3D printing together with Cerinnov Group. This line includes special filament, glazes and kilns. Limoges Porcelain, JL Coquet, design studio BoldDesign and some other players in this market are the first to experiment with the new material.

With the Porcelain filament, Zetamix wants to bridge the gap between art, design and tableware on the one hand and technology on the other. Zetamix has previously developed filament for 3D printing with technical ceramics. Guillaume de Calan, CEO of Zetamix (part of Nanoe Group), says that 3D printing with porcelain filament is simpler and more accessible because it can be used with simpler sintering ovens as well as standard glazes. “We think this new line will be especially attractive to porcelain manufacturers, designers, artists and also porcelain amateurs who already have a 3D printer and can start 3D printing porcelain parts today!”

3D printing small series of porcelain

The manufacturers of porcelain tableware see 3D printing as an additional production technology, including for small series. “We see this as a possible way to produce small series for demanding customers,” says Leo Cochain, site manager at Porcelaine Coquet. “We have been experimenting with the filament and the first products look good.” Guillaume de Calan thinks that the material is particularly interesting for porcelain designers and manufacturers who already have 3D printers and can now print end products.

Total solution

In collaboration with Cerinnov Group, Zetamix is launching a line of 8 glazes in addition to the filaments for coloring, smoothing and waterproofing porcelain products. You can also purchase a special 50 l oven for porcelain products. Both Zetamix As Cerinnov Group, the products will be sold as a total solution.
