Interim WBO heavyweight champion Gilei Zhang scored a third-round knockout victory over former titleholder Joe Joyce in a rematch on September 23 in London.
The 38-year-old Joyce, who suffered his first career loss to Zhang in April this year, started the fight cautiously, but in the second round the 40-year-old Zhang once more seized the initiative due to the greater speed and accuracy of his punches. And already at the end of the third round, Zhang sent Joyce to the floor of the ring with a right side kick from the front hand, and the referee did not allow the Briton to continue the fight.
