ZTE Axon 40 Pro appears on TENAA, looks like Nubia Z40 Pro

Two weeks ago, Nubia revealed that the Nubia Z40 Pro was a very flagship smartphone. However, the device was available exclusively in the Chinese market. Now, it appears that ZTE, the parent company of Nubia, will rename this smartphone to the ZTE Axon 40 Pro. The device looks almost identical to the recently released Nubia Z40 Pro, except for the obvious branding differences. The phone appeared with TENAA certification with model number A2023H with complete specifications and photos. It confirms that it is the same smartphone with the same camera design and even the same dimensions.

Alleged specifications of ZTE Axon 40 Pro

according to QuotedThe A2023H is likely to start the ZTE Axon 40 series like the ZTE Axon 40 Pro. The phone has a 3 GHz CPU which indicates that it is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor which has a 2.995 GHz core. The chipset will be paired with 8GB, 12GB, or even 16GB RAM. As far as storage is concerned, the phone packs 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB variants. Even camera resolutions are included. The phone comes with a triple camera setup with a 64-megapixel, 50-megapixel and 8-megapixel camera. Interestingly enough, these are the same sensors in the Nubia Z40 Pro.

The alleged ZTE Axon 40 Pro features a 6.67-inch OLED panel, while the battery comes with a capacity of 4900mAh, which is minimal. Therefore, we expect the ZTE Axon 40 Pro to pack magnetic charging capabilities. After all, the device has a smaller cell of 4600 mAh. It should be noted that this will not be the first time that ZTE has renamed a specific Nubia phone. In fact, the ZTE Axon 30 Ultra was very similar to the Nubia Z30 Pro, with the exception of some differences in size. It is common for Chinese brands to share smartphone designs.

Xiaomi usually does this with its Redmi and POCO smartphones. In the same way, Realme, OnePlus, and Oppo tend to share their designs. For example, OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite appears to be just a new version of Realme V25. Just like POCO F4, it’s billed as a rebranded Redmi K50

Other Nubia Z40 Pro Specifications

The Nubia Z40 Pro also comes with an under-display fingerprint scanner and a screen with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The camera has 16 mega pixels. The regular variant comes with 80W fast charging, however, this one has a 5,000mAh battery. The variant with a 4600 mAh battery comes with 66W fast charging and 15 W of magnetic wireless charging, and bears the nickname “Gravity Version.”

We expect ZTE to also unveil the ZTE Axon 40 and 40 Ultra variants. One of them will likely bring the company’s next iteration of an in-display camera.
