China has put a check through the state-run media once morest South Korea’s sending of the largest military force ever to Rimpac and the Pacific Rim Exercise, the world’s largest combined maritime exercise led by the United States.
The Global Times, a state-run newspaper in China, evaluated our participation in RIMPAC as ‘a dangerous move to break away from the neutral position maintained between the US and China’.
The Global Times also quoted an expert as saying, ‘This move will not only harm Korea’s economic and security interests, but will also exacerbate conflict and division in the region in the long run.’
The Korean Navy, participating in the 17th RIMPAC this year, has dispatched regarding 1,000 soldiers, the Marado and King Sejong the Great.
