The Ethics Committee made this decision after holding a general meeting at the National Assembly from 7 pm to midnight on the 28th.
After the plenary meeting, Lee Yang-hee, chairman of the ethics committee, told reporters, “Of course, the disciplinary procedure for Lee Jun-seok is very important, but there have been several cases where other disciplinary procedures have been initiated.” “The next meeting is scheduled for October 6.

Earlier on the 18th, the Ethics Committee held an emergency meeting and started additional disciplinary procedures against former CEO Lee Seok-yeol, who criticized President Yoon Seok-yeol, etc.
There was also an observation that the agenda for the entire Ethics Committee meeting on the same day could be blitzed even though Lee did not include additional disciplinary action, but in the end, the decision on the level of disciplinary action was postponed to a later meeting.
Regarding the reasons for disciplinary action against Rep. Kim Seong-won, Chairman Lee said, “On August 11, at the flood recovery support site, I said, ‘I hope it rains.
He said, “I’ve damaged the reputation of the party with a statement that is far from the national sentiment, ‘Come out well for photos’, and as a result of that action, the people’s hearts deviate from it,” he said.
Regarding the initiation of disciplinary procedures against former floor leader Kwon, he said, “Despite the prohibition on drinking and singing due to the emergency situation in the party at the time of the banquet for members of the National Assembly on August 25, we will review whether or not the violation of Article 4 of the Code of Ethics is violated.” explained.
Chairman Lee said that the request for disciplinary action against former floor leader Kwon was received from outside, and the decision to initiate the disciplinary process was unanimous, Chairman Lee said.
The Ethics Committee has decided to ask Lee and Kwon to attend the general meeting on the 6th of next month.
The Ethics Committee suspended Rep. Kim Hee-guk, who was charged with ‘splitting donations’ and handed over to trial, in accordance with the party’s constitutional rules, suspending the right to be elected, the right to apply for public offerings, and suspension of the duty of the party.
However, it was only a call for strict caution without disciplinary action against Rep. Kwon Eun-hee, who opposed the police department and demanded the impeachment of Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min.
“As a member of the National Assembly, sound criticism of policies should be allowed, but as a member of the party, I strongly urge you to refrain from outside activities beyond the allowable range,” Lee said.
Rep. Kwon, who attended the ethics committee that day, told reporters, “No matter what your thoughts are, if the party decides, shouldn’t it be the most important thing to follow? I spoke to the effect of thinking that keeping one’s mouth shut is an act that harms the power of the people.”
