The ‘strongest cold wave’ also hit China.
Temperatures in the northernmost city of Mohe fell to minus 53 degrees Celsius, setting an all-time low in China.
It also broke the previous lowest level recorded here in 54 years.

The northernmost part of China, which borders Russia, is famous for its cold weather.
The temperature measured in Amur Village, Mohe City, Heilongjiang Province, fell to minus 53 degrees Celsius at 7 am on the 22nd.
On the 20th, it was minus 50 degrees, and on the 21st, it was minus 50.9 degrees, and the temperature, which remained below minus 50 degrees for three consecutive days, fell further.
It set a new record for meteorological observations in China, also replacing the previous lowest temperature of minus 52.3 degrees Celsius in Mohe in 1969.

Heating and water supplies were in an emergency as the cold wave continued.

Mohe, which is located along Daxing’anling, an extreme district, is synonymous with cold with an average annual temperature of around -3 degrees Celsius.
It is also famous for a video in which hot water is turned into ice by spraying it in all directions.
Snow begins to fall around May each year, and Moher can see snow and ice for eight months, at the longest, of the year.
