Around Elmau Castle in the southern German state of Bavaria, where the G7 summit will be held, the borders are getting tighter as the meeting approaches.

Protests calling for a response to climate change, which are getting worse day by day, continue.

The biggest agenda for this G7 summit is also how to respond to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine,

The leaders are said to announce a united response and announce new measures to increase pressure on Russia, along with economic and arms aid to Ukraine.

Worldwide inflation and economic stagnation in the aftermath of the war will be addressed.

In particular, measures to solve the global food crisis caused by the suspension of grain exports to Ukraine are expected to be discussed intensively.

Earlier, China and Russia held a BRICS summit in five emerging economies, criticizing the US sanctions against Russia and showing off their strength, so countermeasures are expected to be addressed.

The G7 leaders will also attend the NATO summit in Madrid, Spain, to continue the follow-up discussion on the Ukraine war.

Ukrainian President Zelensky will address both meetings via video.
