The Chinese government indirectly discussed the possibility of an influx of North Korea as the Corona 19 spread in the area near the North Korean border.
China’s National Health Commission, Lei Zhenglong, director of disease control, said in a regular briefing that the recent outbreak of Corona 19 of unknown origin in the border area of Jilin Province is gradually spreading inland.
Director Lei Zhenglong continued, adding that he was monitoring the risk of influx.
Dandong, China’s Liaoning Province, a hub for trade with North Korea, also hinted at the possibility that the re-spreading of Corona 19 may be related to North Korea.
The Dandong City Sanitation and Health Commission said that the recently re-spreading COVID-19 virus is different from the virus that spread at the end of last month.
The Health and Health Committee also added that there are many difficulties in preventing external inflows due to the severe COVID-19 situation in the border region of Dandong.
