The bereaved family of an official of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, who was killed by North Korean forces in the West Sea last year, has accused former President Moon Jae-in of violating the Board of Audit and Inspection Act.
He insisted that there was no sanctuary in the investigation by the Board of Audit and Inspection and insisted that it be revealed what former President Moon did at the time of the incident.

The family of the late Lee Dae-jun, a public official who was murdered in the West Sea, this time aimed directly at former President Moon Jae-in.
Since I did not comply with the Board of Audit and Inspection’s request for a written investigation without justifiable reasons, I filed a complaint with the prosecution saying that it should be punished for violating the Board of Audit and Inspection Act.

The bereaved family has been accusing high-ranking government officials one after another after the Coast Guard announced that there was no evidence of the deceased’s defection to North Korea in June.
This is the first time that he has filed a complaint against former President Moon, but he also foresaw additional actions.

The bereaved family also filed further charges against former National Intelligence Service Director Park Ji-won and former National Security Office Director Seo Hoon for refusing to comply with the Board of Audit and Inspection investigation.
On the other hand, a civic group has accused Choi Jae-hae and Yoo Byung-ho, director-general of the Board of Audit and Inspection, to the Ministry of Public Security, claiming that the Board of Audit and Inspection, whose independence is vital, is conducting outright targeted audits against the previous government.

The complaints are piling up day by day, but the current focus of the prosecution’s investigation into the West Sea murder case remains on the government’s response to the disappearance of the deceased two years ago and the process of voluntarily leaving North Korea.
So far, we have seized and searched the homes of the accused, agencies such as the National Intelligence Service and the Coast Guard, and we are continuing the investigation of working-level officers.
Since last month, the Presidential Archives have been searched and confiscated to check the decision-making process of the Blue House of the Moon Jae-in government.
The investigation of key defendants, including former President Park Ji-won, is expected to proceed only after the search and seizure of the Presidential Archives has been completed.
