[한국강사신문 한상형 기자] According to Yonhap News, group NCT Dream lifted the grand prize trophy at the ’32nd Seoul Music Awards’.

On the afternoon of the 19th, NCT Dream received the grand prize at the awards ceremony held at Case Po Dome, Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul, and expressed their feelings, “It is a great honor to be able to start this year with such a big award.”

NCT Dream’s Jeno expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am really grateful to Czennies (fandom name) who always support me” and “Let’s grow together with NCT Dream.”

NCT Dream released their 2nd regular album ‘Glitch Mode’ in March of last year, the repackaged album ‘Beatbox’ in May, and the winter album ‘Candy’ in December, and was actively engaged in activities.

The ‘Best Song Award’ went to girl group Ive. Ive established himself as a music powerhouse by making hits with both ‘LOVE DIVE’ and ‘After Like’ released last year.

The ‘Best Album Award’, the highest award in the music category, was won by the group BTS. The anthology (anthology) album ‘Proof’ released by BTS in June of last year has received great love, entering the chart for 31 consecutive weeks since its release on the US’ Billboard 200. In addition to the ‘Best Album Award’, BTS won the ‘Bon Sang’ and the ‘Idol Plus Best Artist Award’, winning three crowns.

The ‘K-Pop Special Award’ was awarded to Kara, a girl group who made a full comeback after 7 years last year. It is the first time that Kara has won the Seoul Music Awards since receiving the ‘Korean Wave Special Award’ and ‘Bon Sang’ at the awards ceremony in 2012.

Kara’s Han Seung-yeon paid tribute to the late Goo Hara, saying, “I have a friend who couldn’t be here with me, so I’ll be happy to receive this award together with that friend.”

BTS, Lim Young-woong, Got the Beat, Blackpink, Zico, Taeyeon, Red Velvet, Seventeen, (G)I-DLE, Espa, NCT Dream, Kim Ho-joong, Psy, Kang Daniel, Stray Kids, Ive, etc. received the ‘Bonsang’.

Psy won the ‘Bon Sang’ and the ‘World’s Best Artist Award’, winning two crowns. After receiving the ‘World’s Best Artist Award’, Psy said, “My goal this year is to prolong the lifespan of a dance singer like me.”

Last year, (G)I-DLE, who hit consecutive home runs with ‘TOMBOY’ and ‘Nude’ (Nxde), won the ‘Bon Sang’ as well as the ‘Best Performance Award’.

Singer Lim Young-woong won the domestic category of the Popularity Award, which is determined by fans’ mobile voting. EXO’s Suho won the trophy at the ‘Korean Wave Awards’, a popular award in the overseas category.

The ‘Ballad Award’ went to Younha, who set a chart-reversing record with ‘Event Horizon’ last year, and the ‘R&B Hip-Hop Award’ was jointly won by Vic Nati and B.O.

The rookie award went to three teams: TNX, New Jeans, and Le Seraphim.

Young Tak, who received the ‘Trot Award’, said, “I’m a country boy in Andong, and it’s been about 19 years since I came to Seoul.” said thank you.

This Seoul Music Awards selected candidates for singers who released albums and sound sources in 2022. The main prize and winners in each category were determined by reflecting 40% of the evaluation scores of the organizing committee and judges, 30% of album and music sales scores, and 30% of mobile voting scores.
