[스포티비뉴스=홍은동, 김성철 기자] “I’ll start by apologizing. I’m sorry to the fans… I’m sorry that I ruined the tournament.”

Road FC 062 held at the Swiss Grand Hotel in Hongeun-dong, Seoul on the 18th.

This tournament was a special event that Road FC, which had been quiet due to Corona 19, prepared Kwon Ah-sol’s revenge match and 4 title matches at the end of 2022.

Kwon Ah-sol, the self-proclaimed Road FC’s ‘boxing card’, planned a ‘revenge series’ against the player he had defeated.

However, Kwon A-sol, who vowed revenge, failed to weigh in by over 5kg in the weigh-in before the competition.

The match was on the verge of being canceled due to Kwon Ah-sol’s weigh-in failure, but Nakamura Koji accepted the match unconditionally and was able to proceed.

Kwon Ah-sol, who failed the weigh-in, was also criticized by his teammates.

Park Si-won, the youngest champion in Road FC history, said, “I thought the weigh-in would fail. It’s as expected. I hope you stop now.” I didn’t do it. Going on stage without even trying is betraying the players who worked hard.”

Even in a match that was barely played, Kwon Ah-sol suffered a meaningless defeat due to his timid attitude and poor performance. His tedious performance made the crowd burst into laughter.

This tournament must have been a dream stage for some.

At the press conference held before the match, road FC bantamweight Yang Ji-yong expressed regret at not being able to compete despite being an undefeated fighter, and Park Hae-jin, who failed to weigh-in with a 700g difference, shed tears as he expressed his apologies to the tournament company and fans.

Kwon Ah-sol bowed deeply to the crowd after the game and apologized repeatedly. Then he declared his third match with Nakamura.

Kwon A-sol laughed and joked to the audience, “I just talked to Nakamura. He laughed out loud. We will promote the third match. Please look forward to it.”

The sincerity of the apology was not visible.

Koji Nakamura declined Kwon A-sol’s challenge for the third match in an interview with reporters after the match.
