Yesterday (4th) around 6 pm, the fire in Apsan, Dalseo-gu, Daegu, entered a lull in about 4 and a half hours.
The Forest Service’s Central Forest Fire Prevention and Control Headquarters announced that 691 forest fire extinguishers and 56 units of equipment were put in to catch the big fire in about 4 and a half hours.
The forest fire started at the 3rd ridge of Daedeoksan Mountain, the boundary between Nam-gu and Dalseo-gu, and spread to the top.
Previously, the Forest Service had deployed two forest fire extinguishing helicopters to sprinkle water, but the helicopters were withdrawn as the day became dark.
At the time of the fire, a dry warning was in effect in Daegu, and the wind blew around 2 meters per second, making it difficult to extinguish the fire.
The forest authorities announced that there was no loss of life by dismounting all climbers and controlling entry and exit.
