Prime Minister Han Deok-soo departed this afternoon for a 9-day, 7-night tour to three Central and South American countries.
Prime Minister Han headed to Chile, the first country to visit, on Air Force Unit 1 flight from Seoul Airport around 3:15 pm.
It is the first visit by a South Korean leader to Chile since 2015, and Prime Minister Han visits Chilean President Gabriel Borich to discuss ways to collaborate on mineral resources.
Following this, Uruguay and Argentina will also visit in succession to meet the leaders of the two countries and ask for support for the bid for the 2030 Busan Expo.
On the way home, we plan to stop by Atlanta, the US, to hold a meeting with companies that have entered the automobile and battery industries, and share trends in response to the US Inflation Reduction Act.
