Origin
This rabbit (The word rabbit (/lapε̃/) is a very general term which refers to more…) appeared in the 1920s in England (England is one of the four constituent nations of the Kingdom -Uni….) under the name “Silver fox”. Rabbits with similar colorings are reported elsewhere in Europe (Belgium, Netherlands, Germany), in litters of chinchilla rabbits, but they were not known the same destiny as their English counterparts and were quickly abandoned. The breed developed in Europe in the second half of the 20th century, and was admitted in France in 1972 under the name “Renard silver” before being renamed “black and white” in 1984.
