Motorola is preparing to market a completely crazy smartphone

The “Frontier” would notably be equipped with a 200 megapixel camera.

Lenovo’s subsidiary Motorola is reportedly preparing to release a premium smartphone in Western markets, according to a report by Digital Chat Station, a fairly reliable source for information leaks in the field of tech. The “Frontier” would push the limits in the field of photography with a 200 megapixel main photo sensor and a 60 megapixel selfie camera – just that!

Hardware level, Motorola would also aim very high with a latest generation Snapdragon processor, a high capacity battery, a curved OLED screen with a refresh rate of 144Hz, and a 125W fast charging system. The American brand would aim for the ultra-premium, with a competitor to the iPhone 13 Pro and the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Best known for its inexpensive devices, Motorola has made a nice comeback in the “affordable flagship” segment in recent years, notably with its Edge. The Frontier would open the doors to a new market. It remains to be seen whether the consumer will be receptive to it.
