Baumgart takes Cologne’s rabble fans to heart!
Plain text against the incorrigible FC supporters and their high expectations. In the club documentary “24/7 FC”, coach Steffen Baumgart (50) takes on the Cologne mob fans.
The reason for this is insults and insults that the FC professionals had to listen to in the stadium after the 1-0 defeat in the first leg in Belgrade last week. “It’s getting on my nerves,” Baumgart had already complained on Sunday before the derby. Now he follows up.
“With what right do we present ourselves in Cologne and believe that we are favorites,” Baumgart asks. “Especially when you play against teams like Partizan, who have been playing in international competition for what feels like ten years. Is that an arrogance that belongs here?”
Baumgart put it plainly: “When I sometimes hear comments from the stands and meanwhile also notice what’s going on in the ViP rooms, then it’s rather sad that this team doesn’t get any respect in Niederklagen and is sometimes insulted. This makes me thoughtful.”
Baumgart continues: “It’s social behavior. These are people who have jobs and turn out to be football fans. And when alcohol is added to that, they lose respect for other people.”
