10 Lions Players on Injury Report, Campbell Remains Hospitalized

The Detroit Lions listed 10 players on their initial injury report Wednesday, including linebacker Jack Campbell, who remains hospitalized with a neck injury suffered Sunday against Minnesota, as the 5-2 team prepares for this weekend’s matchup against the 1-6 Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium.

Campbell reports full lower-body movement

Campbell was injured in the Lions’ 19-15 victory over the Minnesota Vikings and released a statement Wednesday saying he has full movement in his lower body while continuing to make progress with his upper body.

The neck injury occurred during the Lions’ Nov. 1 victory at Ford Field against the Vikings. Campbell’s absence will be felt on the second level of Detroit’s defense as the team prepares for the road trip to South Florida.

Walkthrough makes designations estimated

Because Wednesday’s practice was a walkthrough rather than a full session, the Lions’ participation levels are projections, Mysportstab noted. Four players were non-participants: Campbell, center Cade Mays (ankle), cornerback D.J. Reed (hip) and defensive end DJ Wonnum (concussion protocol).

Wednesday’s session on Nov. 4 was conducted as an estimated walkthrough instead of a full practice, resulting in projected participation levels. These absences span both the offensive and defensive units, with Mays anchoring the interior line and Wonnum providing edge rush for Detroit.

Joseph, who has not played since Week 6 of last season, will not make his season debut in Miami.

Among the limited participants, Branch is managing concussion protocol while Joseph continues dealing with a knee issue. Ogbongbemiga (toe), Saylors (neck) and St. Brown (rib) complete the limited group, with each player projected to take part in only a portion of the session.

St. Brown’s rib injury is new

The receiver was not previously known to have a rib injury. St. Brown caught seven passes for 46 yards in Sunday’s win after missing Monday’s practice with an ankle issue.

St. Brown’s limited designation is considered a positive sign despite the new rib issue. The receiver had missed Monday’s practice with an ankle problem before appearing in Sunday’s game, where he recorded seven receptions for 46 yards.

The Week 9 contest is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 8, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, where the 5-2 Lions will face the 1-6 Dolphins. Detroit enters the matchup looking to win its fourth straight game following the Nov. 1 triumph at Ford Field. The Lions released their initial practice participation report on Wednesday, Nov. 4, revealing several key defensive and offensive players dealing with injuries as they began preparation for the road game.

Sunday’s game at Hard Rock Stadium

The Lions will look to win their fourth straight game Sunday against Miami, Yahoo Sports reported. The Dolphins listed 12 players on their own report, including running back Jaylen Wright, who did not practice, while quarterback Malik Willis was a full participant despite a groin listing.

The Dolphins’ injury report includes multiple defensive contributors, with Herring, Robinson and Sieler all dealing with new injuries that limited their practice participation. Allen and Taaffe also appeared on the report with quad and wrist designations respectively. Wright’s absence stands in contrast to Willis’s full participation.

The Lions released their initial injury report on Nov. 4, 2026. ET, as Detroit began its week of preparation for the Sunday game. Campbell’s statement regarding full lower-body movement provided the latest update on the linebacker’s condition following his neck injury against the Vikings.

The Lions’ 5-2 record positions them to extend their winning streak with a road victory, while the Dolphins’ 1-6 mark reflects their struggles this season. Detroit’s defensive depth will be tested without Campbell, Reed and Wonnum practicing, while the offensive line faces questions with Mays sidelined. Branch and Joseph’s limitations in the secondary add to the list of banged-up defenders heading into the Week 9 affair at Hard Rock Stadium.

The matchup carries significance for both clubs’ standings positions, with Detroit seeking to solidify its place while Miami looks to halt its losing skid. The Lions listed 10 players total on their initial report Wednesday, highlighting the physical toll of the season as they prepare for the trip to South Florida.
