Books – Abdullah Owais:

A few days ago, the Giza Governorate announced the launch of magnifying campaigns in a number of cities and neighborhoods of the governorate, which had a reason to close a number of restaurants, to encroach on the sanctuary of the public road, and to spread pedestrian sidewalks, with dining tables, seating benches, and ovens for preparing food. Among those closed restaurants are Kebdet El Prince in the Imbaba area, and Hawawshi Al Rabie.

The matter sparked controversy among many, and the matter turned into a “trend”, especially with the very popular Kabdat Al-Prince restaurant, and its owner, Nasser Al-Prince, became a star in the sky of satellite channels, and dozens of celebrities flocked to his restaurant, so the man issued what looked like a statement, and received responses that were on Her head is from the artist Mohamed Henedy, and other celebrities.

But in light of these statements and media appearances, and the talk about the secret of closing and waxing the shop, not removing the violations, it spread on social media in Egypt, two famous restaurants, supporting the Kebdat El-Prince Restaurant and Hawawshi Al-Rabee, to receive great admiration and perhaps ridicule from some.

The beginning was from the restaurant “Kasr El Kababji”, which considered “Kabdat Al-Prince” an icon and an honorable history for Egyptian restaurants. He called for supporting the restaurant, in a manner that does not violate the legalization of the situation with the governorate, and to reopen the restaurant internally at least, since it does not include medical or veterinary violations, because many families rely on their work in the restaurant with an acceptable income that guarantees them a living.

He called on the restaurant to accept Nasser El-Prince, a financial support of 100,000 pounds, as compensation for the working families for the closure period, through a statement published by the restaurant on its Facebook page: Egyptian food landmarks in the modern era.

As for Hawawshi Al-Rifai, a restaurant in the Abdeen district of Cairo, he posted on his Facebook page, offering his support to the two restaurants, wishing them to overcome all problems and return to work as soon as possible, “and we have all respect and appreciation for you.”

Comments from followers on Facebook were different. Sayed Salah wrote, “From Abdeen to Imbaba.. Greetings to all our sisters. A crisis and an infringement, men.” Ibrahim Al-Hawari wrote, “The Lamb’s Meat Party Alliance.” But Ali Zuweida had another opinion, if he refused to encroach on those shops on the streets with their tables and tools, and many agreed with him on the matter.
