100 events take place in Eichgraben in the anniversary year. There will also be an anniversary film.
Eichgraben is celebrating its 100th birthday this year. This even prompted “Empress Sisi”, aka Katharina Stemberger, to stop by the Wienerwald community. On June 24, the Sisi Entourage will take place at the Eichgraben train station. “The participants should already be on site from 4 p.m., because this is an important point for the 100 years of Eichgraben film, which requires appropriate preparation. Snacks and drinks are available at the gallery at the train station from 3 p.m., so you can be there earlier,” explains Deputy Mayor Johannes Maschl, who coordinates all events. Katharina Stemberger will arrive at Eichgraben station at 4:24 p.m., dressed up as Sisi. She is greeted there by the waiting crowd. Each participant receives a specially made handkerchief in the 100-year style, with which “the empress” is greeted with a wave. Everyone can then keep the anniversary handkerchief as a small thank you for using it as a souvenir.
“The Empress” will then be accompanied to the opening of the exhibition in the gallery at 5 p.m., which can be visited by all those present. At 6.30 p.m. the “imperial carriage” is waiting to take Sisi to the midsummer celebration of the Eichgrabener Naturfreunde at the Lechnerwiese.
